20-year old collector’s piece in stunning 9/10 condition.
No scratches, dents or buckle rash on the finish of this beauty.
90's and early 00's LP Classics can be real gems when you find a good one. They were in fact much closer in specs to old Bursts than their Standard counterparts in this period (Abr-1 bridge, correct headstock shape, thin fretboard and cutaway binding, Kluson style tulip tuners, bell knobs with authentic position markers, etc). You find one with a nice finish and top figuring, you may even throw in a good pair of Alnico II Burstbuckers and you're golden! You have a lifetime partner.
This one here is the real deal, it doesn’t get any better than this. In many ways it's indeed closer in specs to the old Holy Grail than many of the modern
Historic Reissue series with their plantation-growth Fiji mahogany, soft Big Leaf
maple and oftentimes bone-dry Indian rosewood. Sure, hide glue and aniline dye are sweet features but good authentic wood will always be king for me.
